the best completely natural bath bomb recipe...ever.

Bath bomb lovers...it is time.

I know the bright colors are fun. I know the strong fragrances are appealing. The bubbles, the spinning, the swirls, the glitter, the tricks...I get it. I really do. But ladies...they are toxic. Dyes, micas (that contain lead and are colored with synthetic dyes), synthetic fragrances, emulsifiers, phthalates, polysorbates, parabans. Hormone changers, carcinogens, endocrine disruptors,...this is what we are soaking in.

Consider the following taken from my go to doctor in all health related matters, Dr. Axe:

  • Common bath bomb fragrance ingredients are synthetic and can cause hormone disruption and increase your risk of diseases like type 2 diabetes, breast cancer and infertility, among other ailments.

  • Popular bath fizzy ingredients are linked to ailments like asthma, eczema, ADHD, cancer and other diseases.

  • Food dyes common in bath bombs can be absorbed through broken, irritated or recently shaved skin. From there, it goes straight into your bloodstream. Some food dyes are linked to cancer, ADHD, allergic reactions and more.

  • Common bath bomb ingredients are linked to urinary tract and vaginal yeast infections.

  • Glitter used in store-bought and homemade bath bombs can pollute water once they wash down the drain

They are no good for our skin. And since everything we put on our skin absorbs into our bodies...they are definitely no good for our bodies either. Instead of expecting body care products to entertain us in the tub, let's use body care for what it is meant to do...heal and nourish. Handcrafted butters and plant infused oils that nurture dry skin. Colorings like clays and extracts from superfood aronia berries or blueberries that add antioxidants to our bodies through absorption. Spinach, kelp, yellow dock, butterfly pea, madder root. Walnut husks. Activated charcoal. Magnesium. Oh magnesium.

So please, Stop poisoning your body with brightly colored bath bombs...or really brightly colored anything. And to get you off on the right foot...here is a basic bath bomb recipe that will sooth sore muscles and give you an overall sense of relaxation while in the tub. And if you don't want to make one, you can always shop with us, knowing our bath bombs are toxin-free...

Because...well...you are so worth it.
